Wedding Cakes start at $7 a serving for Swiss meringue buttercream filling / Ganache covered and $11 for fondant. Modeling chocolate cakes will start off at $12.50 per serving.

Easier toppers start at $75. More difficult ones can be several hundred dollars. We provide several options to choose from. Hyper realistic toppers will always be several hundred dollars. Yes you can order a topper and not a cake but we still need several days or weeks notice.

There is nothing ordinary about what I create. Straight down to the sponge cake recipes inside my cakes. Not Your Ordinary Cakes are created differently then most sponge cakes. Even the red velvet is dense, moist and doesn't crumble when the fork touches it like a standard red velvet would.

Meet our Cakeologist
Owner and Lead Cakeologist - Jessica Ewald.
HI! I'll be your Cakeologist for your upcoming event. Words to describe myself: Direct, sarcastic, sweet, generous, helpful, sincere, honest, quirky, awesome, intuitive and empathic and witty. I also have a superpower - I create art from cakes. And with that comes great responsibilities. (Too much?). I'm a neurodivergent mother of 3 neurodivergent boys (that's a fancy word for Autistic/ADHD -another superpower of mine). And I'm also a wife to a wonderful Civil/ Structural Engineer (who is very understanding when his wife asks him to help build the support structure for her massive cake orders) Ok, I'll admit, we're both geeking out about how to build the structures. Together we also own another company not related to cakes. I began creating cake art in 2009 and officially opened Not Your Ordinary Cakes in 2014. It took me two years to perfect my recipes and perfecting my art is never ending. I LOVE brightening a person's day. And cake art enables my ability to do so. When I'm not baking for clients, I am using my resources for Icing Smiles.org.

Each cake is hand crafted from my own special sponge cake recipe and stacked and filled between delicious layers of my home-made Swiss meringue buttercream filling (fruit or custard fillings can be added) then my cakes are covered with ganache for a truly flavorful enhancing experience your tastebuds will never regret.
Whether you're planning a Wedding, Grooms cake, sculpted cake, Anniversary, themed, character, hyper realistic, small gathering or giant corporate event- Not Your Ordinary Cakes is ready to help you prepare for guests from 4 to 4000.
At Not Your Ordinary Cakes you will not find American Buttercream, Royal Meringue Buttercream or whipped frosting in this kitchen. We need ingredients that will help stabilize the structural stability of our sculpted and tall tiered cakes and cannot create our beautiful cakes with those methods of buttercream and still achieve the same look you see here.
